SUMMARY:2020 Project Superintendent Training - Course 401 Framing and Insulation Inspections & After the Storm- Lessons learned about Building for High Wind Resistance
DESCRIPTION:401 Framing and Insulation Inspections\nCourse Description: This course covers the requirements and steps Building Inspectors perform during framing and insulation inspections as required in the Florida Building Code and the approved set of plans. \n\n\n\nCourse Learning Objectives\n\nUpon completion of the course\, participants shall be able to:\n\n	Understand and implement the steps required to do a proper framing inspection\n	Understand and implement the steps required to do a proper insulation inspection\n	Describe the requirements for inspecting framing and insulation\n	Read plans and inspect installation in accordance with approved plans\n	Explain the inspection requirements to contractors and builders\n\nNumber of Hours\n\n1 CEU\, GEN\n\n\nAfter the Storm - Lessons Learned about Building for High Wind Resistance\nThis session will discuss structural failures observed during storm damage assessments and the behavior of wood structures during high wind events. An overview of how high wind forces work\, the importance of a complete load path\, and how good design and construction practices can improve the storm resistance of buildings will be provided. Both model code requirements and APA's above code recommendations which contribute to improved overall performance in the structural shell\, will be discussed. They focus on good connection details and common failure modes seen in storm damage assessments and help builders cost effectively build a safer and more resilient home. By understanding key code requirements and lateral load concepts\, home damage in future storms can be minimized.\n\nCEU's: \n\nICC Provider No: 089 - Course No: 15156 \n\nAIA Provider No: G023 - Course No: HWR-1HR \n\nCILB Provider No: 7774 - Course No: 0613406 \n\n\n\nNumber of Hours\n\n1 CEU\, GEN\n\n\n\n2020-2021 Course Schedule\n\n\n	101- Footing Inspection 10/27/2020\n	201- Lintle Inspection 11/10/2020\n	301- Exterior Frame Lath 11/24/2020\n	401- Framing 12/08/2020\n	501- Roof 01/05/2021\n	601- SFR Final 01/19/2021\n	701-Pool 02/02/2021\n	801-Mechanical (not currently Accredited)-2/16/2021\n	901-Plumbing (not currently Accredited)-3/02/2021\n	1001-Electrical (not Currently Accredited)3/16/2021\n\nProject Superintendent Course Program\n\nWorking collaboratively with building officials\, inspectors\, and top industry professionals to promote best practices and create professional relationships between the public and private sectors through education.
