DESCRIPTION:DOWNLOAD FLYER\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs urbanization and housing becomes more complex and affordable housing options become scarce\, developers and the jurisdictions they work in\, are having to adjust regulations and development strategies on many different fronts.  One of these potential strategies is the accessory dwelling unit (ADU).\n\n \n\nAn ADU is a smaller\, independent residential dwelling unit located on the same lot as a single-family home.  Internal\, attached\, and detached ADUs all have the potential to increase housing affordability\, create a wider range of housing options within the community\, enable seniors to stay near family as they age\, and facilitate better use of the existing housing fabric in established neighborhoods.\n\n \n\nEarly this year\, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings\, launched The Housing for All Task Force.  The goal of the Task Force is to increase the available affordable housing stock for residents and to preserve current affordable options.  These ADUs have implications for both the density within a municipality as well as the profitability and potential income for a homeowner.  It has become one of the quickest tools for local governments to help in achieving more affordable housing options. \n\n \n\nThis panel discussion will focus on:\n\n	The Future of ADUs in Central Florida\n	The reasons why ADUs have been so difficult to build in the past for Volume Builders\n	What opportunities these new ADU ordinances present for both Custom and Volume builders\n\nThe Developers Council is a group of committed developers\, builders and associate members who meet monthly to discuss prominent issues and topics relating to the residential construction industry. Our programs include an opportunity to network\, enjoy a drink\, and engage in conversation with a professional panel on issues relating to residential building.
