annouNces IMMEDIATE FUNDING FOR in-classroom teaching aids

ORLANDO, FL (February 26, 2024) – The charitable arm of the Greater Orlando Builders Association (GOBA), the GOBA Foundation has provided $5,000 in funding to support the immediate needs of The REED Charitable Foundation as they work to train more than 125 elementary school teachers during the summer of 2024, impacting nearly 3,000 children in the 2024-25 school year. The funding goes toward the purchase of teaching materials that will be provided to teachers for in-classroom use in the instruction of the highly successful Orton-Gillingham Approach (OG) to overcome reading challenges faced by students with dyslexia.  OG training is a language-based, multisensory, structured, sequential, cumulative, cognitive, and flexible approach to helping all, not just those with dyslexia, students become confident readers and writers.

According to GOBA Foundation 2024 President, Jennifer Englert, “The GOBA Foundation is excited to be able to impact teachers and students locally by providing these much-needed materials to improve literacy. We look forward to our continued partnership with The Reed Charitable Foundation to assist in their mission.”
