Lunch and Learn presentation of Valencia College's Construction program with program director Javier Rojas, highlighting collaboration opportunities with GOBA members.
According to the National Association of Home Builders, unfilled jobs for the construction sector has been a rising trend in recent years. With more than a half-million net jobs added since the Great Recession, builders cite the ability to fill those jobs with skilled workers as a top business challenge. Baby Boomers are retiring just as a construction boom is underway. Meanwhile, tens of thousands of Central Floridians are unemployed. Through our Accelerated Skills Training programs, Valencia College is filling that void by putting people to work.
Valencia’s Construction Program responds to the needs of the industry by providing workforce training and education with successful best-in-class programming. We are able to achieve this through collaboration with and the support of Central Florida construction partners.
